substantial new material beyond the original conference paper, which may include new theoretical contributions, algorithms, methodological developments, additional experiments, datasets, analyses, or validation. Authors must clearly identify and cite the original conference version.
All extended submissions will undergo the respective journal’s
independent standard peer-review and editorial process. Invitation or eligibility to submit does
not guarantee acceptance.
For the Frontiers Research Topic, authors whose conference paper has already been published in IEEE Xplore or the Springer series must declare the original publication at submission and upload the conference version alongside the manuscript.
